Which body organs can we do without?
Your body is able to withstand a lot of punishment. You can actually lose several of your organs and stay alive. Some of these organs may have little or no use, such as your appendix and tonsils. If they become infected, surgeons can simply remove them.
Several others organs come in pairs - for example, your kidneys and lungs - and one of them can removed if it becomes diseased and threatens your health. The remaining organ will keep you alive. However, several organs, such as your heart and liver, are vital to life and do not come in pairs. But not all is lost if they are diseased. They can possibly be replaced with organs transplanted from people who have died as a result of an accident or people who donates some of their organs.
